SAT & SUN, MAY 11 & 12: Donizetti's Daughter of the Regiment In a creative twist, Taconic Opera finishes its 15th season by taking Donizetti’s famous comic opera, Daughter of the Regiment, into the future. This hilarious comedy centers around an abandoned baby girl who is lovingly raised by a regiment of soldiers. Upon emerging into womanhood, it’s discovered that she’s an aristocrat’s daughter. Her ascent into high society proves full of laughs. Performances at White Plains High School, at 7:30pm on May 11, and 2pm on May 12.
The new exhibition, Elements: Those Irreducible Components from Which all Else Springs, features artwork by the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association that underscores our connection to the environment. Bringing together paintings, prints, photographs and sculpture, the show addresses the evocative concept of elements on a physical, spiritual and conceptual level.
