The first LegoLand Discovery Center opens at Ridge Hill Mall

March 27th!!!

The first LegoLand Discovery Center opens at Ridge Hill Mall inYonkers, Westchester county.

I am so excited about this new attraction. My son just turned three yesterday, and he has been addicted to Legos before he turned one.

He could spend hour on end using his imagination using Legos, to build anything.

Luckily Ridge Hill Mall is a 5 minute drive from my house. One time I decided to tackle the famous hill on foot. I was trooping with my two kids. Albee in a stroller and Jj on foot. Luckily Jj is a trooper and did not give up on me. It is a killer hill. But this was a good experience. Jj and I found that we love to climb and we will be taking that on later in the spring.

Back to Lego Land. The Westchester magazine ( march 2013 edition), reported this attraction cost about $12 million to build. Here are some of the attractions :

Hands on activity center
"4D" movie theater with 10" seats
Two family friendly rides
Miniland ( re-creates landmark locations from Westchester and New York City in Lego Form.

This is the 10th LegoLand Discovery Center Worldwide.

100 employees will be at this location.

How big will it be ? 32,300 square feet

How many Legos were used for displays ?
Over 3 Million!!

Remember the gran opening is March 27th
